The KCLA team believes that “community outreach” and “community engagement” are distinctly different from each other.
Community Engagement programs take place in your neighborhood. These programs help us build strong relationships with your community over time.
Community Outreach events are one-time experiences. They share information about how you can get involved with the Zoo. We work with local event planners, community leaders, and partner organizations. These events help connect your community to Zoo programs and activities.
At these events, we use animal artifacts, models, and hands-on materials. These items show what you might see or learn in a Zoo program. The KCLA team does not bring live animals to these events.
