Run Through the Zoo!

Gather your family, friends, holiday cheer and join us on Saturday, November 14 for the Reindeer Run. With a three-mile course entirely within Brookfield Zoo Chicago, walk, jog, or run under the lights while being one of the first to see Holiday Magic!

All registered Reindeer Run participants will receive a commemorative Reindeer Run winter hat with registration.

5:30 p.m. Registrants can enter and check in at Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s North Gate Entrance

5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Pavilions open with music, plus food and drinks will be available for purchase.

7:00 p.m. Reindeer Run begins! (Last call for bib pickup)

9:00 p.m. Zoo closes for runners and spectators

Brookfield Zoo Chicago is the only place in the Chicagoland area that gives members FREE access to our spectacular Holiday Magic light show.

FAQs

Where is packet pick-up?

There is no packet pick-up for Reindeer Run.

Simply enter through the North Gate Entrance after 5:30 p.m. on the day of the run to receive your hat and race bib.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are allowed. Runners and walkers with strollers are asked to line up last at the starting line.

Will Reindeer Run be timed? Can I walk?

No, Reindeer Run is a non-competitive, fun run and will not be timed. Participants may walk the course. Prizes will not be awarded.

Will animal buildings be open?

No, animal buildings will not be open during Reindeer Run.

Can my family watch me?

Yes, but they will have very limited access to the Zoo. Spectators must remain in the designated spectator locations and may not wander the Zoo or Reindeer Run course.

Only registered runners wearing their race bib are allowed on the course. Airhorns and noise makers are not allowed.

Will food be available for purchase?

Yes, food will be available for purchase in the Pavilions during Reindeer Run.
