You can help conserve axolotls
In 2025, Brookfield Zoo Chicago took in 20 rescued axolotls that were illegally imported at O’Hare International Airport and seized by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) officers. Axolotls are listed as Critically Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN Red List).
You can help support axolotl conservation by adopting Sir Mix-O-Lotl through our Animal Adoption Program today!
