The brown bear siblings at Brookfield Zoo Chicago were born in early 2023 in Alaska, and were orphaned that year. Through a cooperative effort between Brookfield Zoo Chicago, Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and the Alaska Zoo, the bears were rescued, and came to Brookfield Zoo Chicago in November 2023. You can help support brown bear care and conservation by adopting through our Animal Adoption Program.

Jess is a female brown bear, smaller than her brother Tim, and easily recognized by the warm golden tint of her fur. She’s also known for her bright, curious nature!
